Living from the End: Embracing Your Vision of the Future in the Present

Have you ever wondered what sets those who achieve their dreams apart from the rest of us dreamers? Everyone has aspirations, but not everyone manages to turn them into reality. So, what's the secret sauce that propels some individuals toward their desired future while others remain in the realm of wishful thinking? The key lies in their ability to operate from the future, to live from the end. In other words, they possess a vision of the future but operate from the present.

Vision of the Future: Imagine for a moment that you possess the incredible ability to peer into your future, like a crystal ball revealing the life you aspire to live. This vision isn't just a whimsical daydream; it's a concrete image of where you want to be. It includes setting long-term goals, having a profound sense of purpose, and a clear understanding of what you want to achieve in various aspects of life—career, personal development, relationships, or any other goals close to your heart.

Operating from the Present: Now, let's ground ourselves in the present. This means that, while you have this captivating vision of the future, your feet remain firmly planted in the now. It involves making decisions, taking actions, and planning your steps based on your current circumstances and the resources available to you. Instead of merely getting lost in daydreams about the future, you use your vision as a guiding star to make choices that align with your long-term goals.

Neville Goddard, a prominent advocate of manifesting one's desires, provides valuable insight into this process. He once said, “The present moment is all-important, for it is only in the present moment that our assumptions can be controlled. The future must become the present in your mind if you would wisely operate the law of assumption. The future becomes the present when you imagine that you already are what you will be when your assumption is fulfilled. Be still (least action) and know that you are that which you desire to be.”

Goddard's words remind us of the significance of the present moment in the manifestation of our desires. He emphasizes that our assumptions, our beliefs about what is possible, can be shaped and controlled most effectively in the present. To apply the law of assumption wisely, you must bring the future into your mind's present reality. This means imagining and feeling as if you already possess what you desire.

Neville Goddard encouraged people to make a distinction between "thinking OF the future" and "thinking FROM it." The former involves merely thinking about a distant future, often in a passive or daydreaming manner. However, the latter requires you to immerse yourself in the future, as if you are already living it in the present moment.

For instance, if you seek healing, instead of simply thinking about being healed someday, you should imagine yourself fully healed right now. Each day, go to sleep with the belief and visualization that this healing is already done. This is where the power lies in "thinking FROM the future."

As Eckhart Tolle beautifully puts it, "When you pray from something, believe that you have already received it. Not that you will receive it, but you have!" This aligns with Neville Goddard's approach of living as if your desired future is already a reality.

In essence, "having a vision of the future but operating from the present" means infusing your present actions with faith in your future. It's about embodying the person you aspire to become and taking consistent steps today that lead you closer to that vision.

So, why wait? Start living from your future self right now and watch your dreams materialize before your eyes. By thinking and acting from the end, you align your present with your desired future, creating a powerful force for transformation and achievement.
